The event was run in mild and dry conditions, but after the recent weather, the course was muddy and slippery in places.

Once again, Matlock Cycling Club had a great turn out, with successes across the various age groups.

Matlock’s Harriet Limb and Holly Hoy scored a great one-two for in the girls U9s category, as the pair finished well clear of the chasing pack.

In the boys U12s race, Derby Mercury’s Ben Chilton made it a great day for the family, as the elder brother backed up his younger brother’s win earlier by taking a fine solo victory.

More high placings followed in the youth race, with Matlock’s Cameron Orr finishing in fifth place having been in contention with the leaders throughout.

John Webster – elder brother of Elizabeth Webster – took a fine third place in the U14s youth race, which was won by the host club’s Tom Dussek.

Local Mule Bar Girl Team rider Diane Lee was the comfortable winner in the women’s senior race, finishing alone, well clear of the chasing pack, but was joined on the podium by another local rider and teammate, Phoebe Sneddon.
