Healy, aged 44, partners Tom Ciullo, 26, from Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

The event in Wiltshire is a one-day, 18-hole “Stableford” rules competition.

Thirty-six amateur golfers will contest the UK Final as they bid for the national title.

The top two pairs go on to represent Great Britain in the Audi Quattro World Cup Final staged at the Trump National Golf Club, Los Angeles, from October 7-11.

Simon’s form this year has been impressive as he achieved a sixth-placed individual finish in the Sheffield & Doncaster Audi Worksop GC event on May 15.

He then teamed up with Tom to claim first place in a Regional Final at the Woodhall Spa GC last month, which in turn meant they qualified for next Thursday’s UK Final.

• The Audi Quattro Cup, being staged for the 23rd year, is the world’s largest amateur golf competition with almost 80,000 players from over 50 countries competing.
