The duo triumphed with a score of 41-points in the Stableford rules matches but only after a count back.

Sixteen pairs of amateur golfers contested the 18-hole competition having earned a regional final place by means of a top placing in one of almost 50 qualifying tournaments staged since April.

Simon and Tom’s success ensures their participation in the Audi quattro cup UK final, which is now in its 23rd year. That takes place at Bowood Golf and Country Club near Calne, Wiltshire on September 5.

From there the top-two “pairs” from the UK Final will go on to represent Great Britain in the Audi quattro Cup World Final which will be staged at the Trump National Golf Club, Los Angeles, between October 7-11.
