Hines has scored three goals in five matches after being earmarked by many as a potential player to be leaving the club in the summer.

Allen admitted that when he came to the Spireites after relegation to the National League, he was not sure if the winger would be staying at the Proact.

But Hines, who came to Chesterfield in January, has earned the praise of his manager.

Allen said: “I spoke to him in the summer. As a London boy I wasn’t sure if he would want to be up here living away from his family.

“But has been awesome... what a professional, what a person.

“I really, really like him. He is like gold dust.

“He can be and is a matchwinner. What a good player. He has been so exciting and great in training. He never misses a day’s training... a model professional and a model bloke.

“He has been outstanding. Everything we have done going forward has revolved around him.

“He has been unplayable at times. He is quick, full of energy and has a great attitude around the training pitch.“
