The 26-year-old is currently on a season loan at the Vanarama National League North side.

The forward, who has been out injured for a spell this season with a dislocated shoulder, scored a hat-trick against AFC Goole in the West Riding County Cup on Tuesday night.

Shaw signed for the Blues in 2018 under Martin Allen.

John Sheridan alllowed him to join the West Yorkshire club in the summer but Pemberton revealed he wanted to recall him but was told that was not possible due to the terms of the agreement.

“I did think about bringing him back but I was told it was a season-long loan and we could not do it,” he said.

“I would have brought him back, I like him.

“When I was involved last time I thought he did really well for me last time.

“He saw the other day that he had done well.

“He is a great lad so don’t rule him out definitely.”

Before signing for Chesterfield Shaw worked as a box packer in a factory.

He was a prolific goalscorer for Grantham Town and was on trial at Lincoln City when the Spireites secured his signature.

Unfortunately he was unable to continue his goalscoring form at the Blues and was sometimes used as a right-back or a winger.
