The game concluded in unsavoury scenes after Chesterfield’s Armand Gnanduillet said he was racially abused by a supporter in the Lorne Street stand as the teams left the pitch.

Gnanduillet opened the scoring with a powerful header before Eoin Doyle made it 2-0 from the penalty spot.

And Charlie Raglan headed home in the 70th minute to complete the win.
