VIDEO: Did referee Kettle go off the boil for Gills' second penalty?
Chesterfield were left to rue a refereeing decision and their own naivety last night at the Proact.
Gillingham came back from 3-1 down to draw thanks to a second spot-kick awarded by referee Trevor Kettle and a last gasp goal from Scott Wagstaff.
Kettle, who last season sent off Charlie Raglan at Swindon, decided that Laurence Maguire had committed a foul in the box, allowing Jay Emmanuel-Thomas to step up and score from the spot for the second time in the match.
But Chesterfield disputed the decision, Maguire feeling he had simply gone shoulder to shoulder with his man.
Danny Wilson called the decision a ‘joke’ and ‘pathetic’ but what do YOU think?
