Scunthorpe boss Nick Daws might only have managed 10 games, but he doesn't believe he pales in comparison with Chesterfield's Danny Wilson.

Daws will stand opposite Wilson, who has over 1,000 matches under his belt as a manager, in the technical areas at Glanford Park on Saturday.

“It is an honour in some ways to face someone who has that experience,” Daws said.

“There have been comments about myself and other managers in their first role.

“But I have had 500 games plus stood on the touchline, working alongside somebody or leading the team, and you pick up a heck of a lot of experience just by doing that.

“On the back of that I had however many hundred appearances playing, so I have probably got 1,200, 1,300 games of experience as a football person at the cutting edge on the pitch or being involved in the decision making.

“The only real thing that I have not been involved in, since 10 games ago, has been the team selection and having sole responsibility, alongside my assistant Andy, for making the substitutions during the game.

“I don’t see myself inexperienced or as a ten-game manager. I see myself as an experienced football person with a lot of knowledge and a real understanding of the game and how I can affect a match.”
