Teenager in Peak airlift rescue drama
A teenager was airlifted to hospital after falling while participating in a Duke of Edinburgh Award expedition in the Peak District.
The 18-year-old, from London, fell awkwardly and sustained a back injury while crossing a stile close to Lee Farm, near Upper Booth, Edale, on Thursday.
Buxton Mountain Rescue Team assisted the ambulance service in evacuating the teenager over boggy ground and across a river to the awaiting aircraft.
