The striker, signed from Grantham in the summer, is yet to find the net in Town colours.

But in recent weeks he’s come closer and closer.

“I think it’s the old saying, he needs one to go in off his backside,” said the club’s assistant manager.

(At home to Billericay), he cuts inside onto his left foot, the goalkeeper makes a great save and pushes it onto the bar and it goes out.

“There’s been a lot of blocks.

“He just has to keep on going.

“If he wasn’t getting chances, you’d be worried, but he’s now starting to get chances.”

And the coaching staff are on hand to give whatever help they can: “The manager is working on technical finishing sessions with the players, to keep on improving.

“Whatever time we need to give to the players to improve them in whatever department, we’ll give it.”
