He writes...

“Tommy Lee has only recently reached 300 games for Chesterfield, so he won’t thank me to bring this back up but then again I guess it’s also timely, sorry Tommy!

“Way back at the start of the 2014/15 season Chesterfield played Huddersfield in the Capital One Cup. The game was everything you would expect from a cup tie including a cruel twist at the end.

“Leading 3-1 going into the final ten minutes thanks to goals from Ritchie Humphreys a wonderful long range strike from Ollie Banks and Eoin Doyle the fans may have sensed they were through to Round Two.

“However, Nahki Wells who had scored Huddersfield’s first managed to fire home in the 84th minute and the nerves began to set in around the Proact in supporters and players alike.

“Sadly for Tommy he made an uncharacteristic error in injury time as a tame Jon Stead effort squirmed under him. This photo depicts his despair and frustration after this.

“The night got worse from there as in extra-time Huddersfield ran out 5-3 winners and the League Cup campaign was over at the first hurdle for the Spireites.”
