Spireites legend Sean Dyche to appear at fundraiser for Chesterfield FC Community Trust

Spireites legend Sean Dyche is making a special appearance at a sporting dinner later this month to raise funds for the Chesterfield FC Community Trust.

Dyche, who captained the side which reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup in 1997, will be the special guest at the dinner on Sunday, April 22 (7pm for 7.30pm).

As well as a Q&A session with Dyche, there will be further entertainment from zany comedian and mind-reading sporting mentalist Billy Flywheel.

Community Trust chief John Croot said: “I am delighted that Sean has agreed to attend the dinner as a personal favour to me to help raise funds for the Trust.

“As a Premier League manager, Sean is a high-profile figure who has very limited availability, hence why the event has been arranged at short notice.

“I am sure that fans will welcome the opportunity to meet Sean and hear him reflect on his time at the club.”

Dyche scored a penalty in the unforgettable 3-3 draw against Middlesbrough at Old Trafford as Chesterfield went close to securing a place in the FA Cup Final. He made over 250 appearances in a seven-and-a-half-year spell at the club before being sold to Bristol City in August 1997.
