Mr Turner set up Chesterfield FC Player Progression Pathway (PPP) with former non-league footballer Liam Sutcliffe.

The business, based across the road from the Proact but legally separate from the football club, is split into two – a development school and an international academy.

Papers filed with Companies House yesterday show that Mr Turner’s appointment as a director of the development school has been terminated.

He resigned from the international academy at the start of June.

Earlier this year the Derbyshire Times reported on financial trouble at the PPP, with losses of £77,000 recorded for the last financial year and staff departures over unpaid wages.

A Chesterfield FC sponsor and other parents also threatened legal action over money owed from a cancelled PPP football tour, before receiving refunds.
