Shirebrook Town make it two wins from two

Goals from Josh Turner and Joe Harris saw Shirebrook mount a late comeback to win 2-1 at Clifton All Whites.

The game was less than a minute old when Ryan Smith gave Clifton the lead.

However after the early setback Shirebrook soon began to create chances of their own with Nathan Jessop going closest to pulling a goal back for the visitors.

But the home side started soon started to get back on top and started to test Michael Ball in the Shirebrook goal, before Town weathered the storm and nearly levelled late in the first half when Joe Harris saw his header go just wide.

Shirebrook started the second half the betterwith Jessop and Luke Manlove both having chances to level.

Town went even closer mid-way through the half when Josh Turner’s cheeky backheel was just saved by the Clifton keeper.

But in the 74th minute Shirebrook were finally level when Joe Harris cross found Josh Turner at the near post.

Shirebrook pushed for the winner and it arrived in the 85th minute when the ball fell to Joe Harris on the edge of the box and he managed to find enough score with the aid of the crossbar.

Shirebrook are back in action next Saturday when Eastwood CFC visit Langwith Road, 3pm kick-off
