Sheffield Wednesday defender linked with Chesterfield move joins Notts County on loan

The 21-year-old centre-back will stay with the Magpies until at least November 27.

Notts have lost defenders Kyle Cameron and Connell Rawlinson for at least two or three weeks to injury so it is likely Brennan’s chances of playing are higher than if he had joined Town.

The Star in Sheffield reported last week that the Spireites had shown some interest in him.

County head coach, Ian Burchnall, said: “As soon as Kyle (Cameron) came off against Maidenhead we knew we were going to have to dip into the loan market to add cover at the back.

“We have shortlists prepared for situations like this.

“Ciaran was one of four-or-five players we looked at closely and he came out on top. He’s very well thought of at Wednesday and will fit in well in terms of how we want to play.”
