Selston extend lead at the top of Central Midlands South

Second half action between Selston and Bulwell at Selston's Mansfield Road ground on Saturday.

Bulwell took a seventh-minute lead through Sean Craven, but Carl Moore equalised for Selston after a quarter of an hour.

A Jamie Renshaw strike put the home side ahead before Ashley Chadwick made the scores level a minute just prior to the break.

The only goal of the second half came from a 35-yard Sean Gregory strike, though Selston also missed a penalty later in the game.

Elsewhere in the division, Hucknall Town moved into second spot, a bumper crowd of 126 seeing them beat Eastwood Community 3-0 at Watnall Road.

Michael Banister’s 25 yard free kick put Hucknall in front after six minutes with second half goals from Kajally Danso and Dave Leak wrapping up the points.

Sherwood Colliery slipped up at home, going down 4-1 to Blidworth Welfare, completing a double over their opponents.

Gaz Curtis and Jordan Harris both scored twice for Blidworth, Tristan Burrell replying for the Wood.

Pinxton were 3-0 winners at Linby Colliery with Luke Walker, Jake Vernon and Matt Robson getting the goals which move Pinxton into the top five.

Clay Cross managed a rare home league win as they overcame Keyworth United by three goals to two. Ryan Bates got the Millers off to the best of starts, netting in the third minute, but Anton Daniels levelled just before the interval.

Tomas Poole restored the lead but again Keyworth equalised, this time through Daniel Gallagher, Poole however struck again on 77 minutes.

This goal proving decisive as the home side claimed all three points.

Hucknall Rolls had a 3-2 win at Mickleover RBL, Jamie Thomas’s opener being cancelled out by David Moon.

Two goals in quick succession from Rory Smith and Andy Start proved too big a margin for the Legion to make up, though Daniel Minto did manage to pull one back ten minutes from time.

A Kieran Helsdown penalty on the stroke of half time proved enough for Collingham to beat Holbrook St Michaels.

Friday night football proved popular at Ollerton with 113 seeing the home side beat local rivals Newark Town 4-0.

The home crowd had to wait until the 42nd-minute before Lewis Bingham opened the scoring, a feat he repeated within 15 seconds of the start of the second half.

Kyle Clarkson added a third on 68 minutes before Bingham completed his hat trick a minute from the end.
