Rovers hit five to shatter Gladiators' record

Glapwell Gladiators' unbeaten start to Division Five of the NAPIT Sunday League was ended by Barlow Kingston Rovers's 5-2 win.

Gladiators began brightly but Rovers took the lead through Dan Nowak.

A fine individual effort from Dave Canning hauled Gladiators level, but Novak restored Rovers’ lead.

Ritchie Yoshikawa scored twice and Scott Whitehouse added a fifth before Gladiators scored a second consolation.

Holmewood Park Rangers suffered their third consecutive defeat after winning their first four games. Newbold Community Football Training’s Ant Brown, Luke Hemstock and Dan Hodson scored.

Bradley Nunn and Steve Linder netted as Old Whittington MW won 2-0 at Hasland WMC and Spireite Pub won by the same margin at Woodthorpe Wanderers with Ricky Strong and Ryan Hutchinson the scorers.

Dronfield Wanderers and Brimington Club shared eight goals.

In Division Six, a total of 61 goals and a goal difference of plus 50 in nine league games are the statistics of Anchor Inn Clowne, who top the table after putting 12 goals past Blue Bell Bolsover. Reagan Edridge scored four and Ryan Edridge two to take their joint tally to 29 this season. Dale Gosney and Josh Cawkwell scored twice and Mark Slynn and Luke Slater also netted.

Markham Arms are third after a 5-2 success at Dronfield Town, while a 4-0 win over Renishaw Rangers TFC for Palterton Sporting Club, Will Holmes scoring twice, took them fourth.

Jordan Sambrook hit a treble for Ye Olde Nags Head, who beat Spartans 2nds 5-1. Nags Head Allstars and Hasland Community A shared 10 goals.
