Chesterfield are a side under pressure ahead of their FA Cup trip to Colchester, but Danny Wilson wouldn't have it any other way.

The Spireites are without a point or a goal in their last six outings before the first round of the knockout competition tomorrow.

If the pressure is mounting on his men, Wilson isn’t too concerned, it’s their reaction he’s interested in.

“I hope that we can still play under pressure, you’ve got to relish it,” he said.

“I don’t think it’s a problem, if you can embrace it then it’s a fantastic colleague.

“I don’t want the pressure to be released.

“If you could eradicate a bit of frustration and anxiety, that’s what I’d like to see disappear and that will come with a result.

“The sooner the happens the better for everybody.”

Chesterfield will face a U’s side going through a remarkably similar run to their own.

They might be a League Two but Wilson insists they will be a tough test for Town.

“We’ll have to treat Colchester with the respect they deserve,” he said.

“Yes they’ve had an up and down season like we have but they have some good players and they can cause any team problems.

“They’re young, very energetic, they’ve got a bit of experience in Chris Porter who leads the line well up front.

“They’ve got a bit of everything, but then so have we.

“We’ve got to go with a strong belief that if we play anything like we can, we’ll score goals.”
