HT: Chesterfield 0 v 0 Bradford City

The visitors start their season next week but it’s the Spireites who have looked fitter, faster and stronger in the first 45. Very encouraging stuff.

Good save from Covolan

To deny Walker, who prodded the ball towards goal, after beating the offside trap.

For Chesterfield’s Williams for a trip as a Bradford player was running in behind. Might have a bit unlucky, looked more like an accidental tangle of legs.

A ‘fan’ in the home end has been escorted out. Not entirely sure why but it appears it involved Bradford’s subs who were warming up on the touchline. We are back underway.

Another goal ruled out

Chesterfield have another goal ruled out for offside. Again it comes from a Horton cross, Quigley turns it in but the flag is up. Fair to say the Spireites fans are enjoying what they are seeing so far.

Dobra heads in Horton’s cross from the left but the flag is up for offside.

The visitors have also had a goal ruled out for offside.

0-0 after 23 minutes.

Asante powers a low strike at goal from inside the area but Lewis parries. The rebound falls to Mandeville but his shot is blocked. More promising signs from the hosts.

King cuts Bradford open down the right with a lovely cutting pass for the on-rushing Mandeville. His cut-back is then cut-out, unfortunately. More promising signs from the Blues.
