North Wingfield WMC ease past Hasland Community in Chesterfield Sunday League

A double from Chris Collins set North Wingfield WMC on their way to all three points with a 4-0 win against Hasland Community in HKL Division Five of the Chesterfield Sunday League.

However the game of two halves statement could definitely be applied.

With a strong wind favouring the side playing towards the Dark Lane end of the ground it was Hasland who would use it to their advantage with a very dominant first half showing.

The danger of Aaron Walker being to the fore, but with some poor finishing and the North Wingfield defence restricting them to edge of the box shots that failed to test the keeper they would be left frustrated.

For the home side the industry of Kyle Green saw him work his way into the Community box but keeper Ashley Mellors pulled off the save and we went into the break goal less.

With the wind at their backs it didn't take North Wingfield long to gain the advantage when Collins fired home just two minutes after the re start.

Hasland did show through Richard Langham but his effort was saved by home keeper Dave Gibson.

It would be Gibson who would provide an excellent assist to the second with a massive but well directed kick from his hands that found Collins, who ran on to double the lead with a fine finish across the Hasland keeper on 64 minutes.

The wind was well and truly taken out of the visitors sails four minutes later when Connor Scott converted and then the goal of the game with five minutes remaining came when Gary Brooks fired home with the sweetest of strikes as the ball dropped over his shoulder to wrap up the three points for North Wingfield who know enter mid table security.
