The Trojans are the form side in the division having won five of their last six league games, drawing the other, and currently hold an unbeaten home record so far this season.

But it was away to second-placed Penistone they notched up their latest points haul despite going behind early on to a Jordan Coduri goal with just four minutes on the clock.

Staveley responded, however, with Patrick Lindley levelling matters on 23 minutes and it was all square going into the break before the visitors started to take control.

Robson Doolan struck four minutes after the interval and the points were sealed when Adam Lund grabbed a third six minutes from the 90.

The win puts Staveley three points ahead of Penistone in the table, with four games in hand on their closest challengers, and five points ahead of third-placed Yorkshire Amateur and Liversedge.

Maltby Main are next up in the league for Staveley on Saturday (15th February, 3pm) at Inkersall Road.
