“Their attitude to training left me feeling confident before the tournament, but they really surpassed themselves and can look forward to a great day out in Liverpool in a few weeks time.

“I would like to thank Shane Turner for supporting me in getting the girls this far.”

The U11 girls, spearheaded by captain Jess Rich, played two rounds of matches against Chesterfield, Gainsborough and District, and South Derbyshire.

Without their usual goalkeeper, the girls managed to draw level at the top of the table with South Derbyshire, and did not concede any goals.

A penalty shoot-out then saw Bolsover win 2-1 and spark off memorable celebrations.
