New Mills have lined up a friendly against League One side Sheffield United as they continue to plan towards next season.
The Millers will face a Blades side, likely to be made up of under-18 and under-21 players, at Church Lane on Wednesday August 13.
Other pre-season meetings are currently being finalised and manager Roy Soule says that negotiations are going well.
He said: “Pre-season is just being finalised but we have four home games in August including Sheffield United.
“We also have two other league clubs who have verbally confirmed games in July.
“We intend on playing two early away games to give the pitch sufficient recovery time, so overall we expect about eight games in total.”
Meanwhile, the club has completed a comprehensive pitch overhaul that has seen a number of drainage bands cut into the full length of the turf which should hopefully improve the drainage next season.
Soule said: “Whilst last winter was the wettest on record, it was frustrating to have a number of games called off so hopefully we should see a massive improvement next season.”
