Matlock Town face Grantham away in FA Cup

Matlock Town have been handed a third successive away FA Cup tie when the 2nd Qualifying Round draw was revealed on Friday lunchtime.

They will travel to divisional rivals Grantham Town next Saturday 3 October.

It will be the first of two visits to the South Kesteven Stadium during October for Paul Phillips’ men as they are scheduled to be at the same venue for a league clash on Tuesday 20 October.

The Gladiators beat OJM Black Country Rangers 1-0 in a tie switched to the Proctor Cars Stadium after being originally set for the West Midlands in the Preliminary Round before winning 2-0 at Quorn on Tuesday. Grantham have played just the one game to qualify for this stage, winning a penalty shoot out against Rushall Olympic after the sides had drawn 2-2.
