FC Bolsover’s hopes of adding to their fine season with a cup final appearance ended at the hands of Hucknall Town on Saturday.
The two met in the semi-finals of the CMFL Challenge Cup, but hosts Bolsover were never at the races as the South Division side eased to victory and earned a final spot against Selston, who beat Sherwood Colliery.
It was only Bolsover’s third defeat of the season and they can now concentrate their efforts on winning the CML North Division title as they do battle with Clay Cross and AFC Bentley at the top of the table.
Matt Brian opened the scoring on 25 minutes with Adam Nelson doubling the margin two minutes from the interval.
The other two goals came in the closing stages, Ricki Saxby scoring after 88 minutes and Ashley Whitt wrapping things up deep into stoppage time.
Bolsover are next in action when title rivals AFC Bentley are the visitors on Saturday with a 3pm kick-off.
