New Mills AFC’s youth team secured the Stockport Metro Junior Football League’s Under-17/18s Division Two championship last Sunday with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Poynton Vipers.
Praising his side, manager Michael Adrio said: “The most impressive thing is how quickly they bonded.
“They already play some nice fluid football with great desire and attitude. They work hard for one another and the club, and behave in a professional manner which is a pleasure to see.
“Their success this year is nothing less than they deserve, and I have no doubt that some of these young men will enjoy fruitful careers in football. Hopefully, here at New Mills Football Club. “
The youth team’s final league game of the season is against Hillgate Boys at Church Lane on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
