Vydra, last season’s Championship top scorer, had been in talks with a move to Leeds but it was said to have stalled due to the striker’s wage demands.

The 26-year-old was also rumoured to be pictured in Leeds city centre towards the end of last week.

But with the 2018/19 season just around the corner it looks like Leeds have moved on to a different target with a £7m fee agreed with Middlesbrough for Patrick Bamford.

Bamford, who spent the early months of 2014 with the Rams, is reportedly having a medical at Elland Road today (Monday 30th June) ahead of the switch.

Yorkshire Evening Post reports the capture of Bamford will end their interest in Vydra, who was asking for more than £50,000-a-week wages.

Meanwhile Derby look set to complete the signing of midfielder George Evans from Reading. Evans will be Frank Lampard’s fifth summer signing following the captures of Jack Marriott, Florian Jozefzoon and loan duo Mason Mount and Harry Wilson.
