A first half hat-trick from Jacob Murphy set Coventry City up at home to Gillingham in League One’s top of the table clash.

The Sky Blues were rampant in the first 45 minutes and a Ben Turner saw them take a 4-0 lead in to the break at the Ricoh Arena.

Visitors Gillingham were top of the table at 3pm and showed their resistence with a Bradley Dack goal after the interval.

But it was Tony Mowbray’s flying Coventry side that moved in to pole position this Saturday evening after a comprehensive 4-1 win.

Goals from Lee Novak and Rai Simons weren’t enough for Chesterfield who slipped to a 3-2 defeat at Port Vale
