Mason Bennett, Tom Naylor and Mark Duffy all on target for the Brewers who stretch their lead at the top of the table to four points.

That was after second-placed Walsall’s 3-0 defeat at home to in-form Millwall - now with four wins from their last five in the league.

Their form is almost as good as Wigan Athletic, 2-0 winners at Sheffield United, nine games without defeat and a point off automatic spots.

Play-off hopefuls Gillingham were held to a goalless draw at Swindon Town and Southend United go level with sixth-placed Millwall with a 3-0 win over Colchester.

Peterborough will think they can contend for a top six spot after a 1-0 win at Chesterfield with nine men at a blustery Proact Stadium.

The Spireites are two points above the bottom four, which contains Crewe Alexandra who recorded a vital three points at home to Rochdale in a 2-0 win.
