Town ran out 4-0 winners against Woking on Saturday to secure their first victory of the season.

Substitutes Tyler Denton, Luke Rawson and Liam Mandeville all made a big impact and could be in contention to start at Plainmoor.

When asked if he had got some tough decision to make on picking his starting line-up, Pemberton said: “Yes, I have. But that is a good place to be in. It is competition and that is what we want. I want the decisions where I have to think hard about what team I am going to pick out and what the subs are.”

Rawson’s two goals in six minutes put Chesterfield out of sight against Woking, but Mandeville’s 10-minute cameo did not go unnoticed as he helped swing the game in Town’s favour.

On the 23-year-old, Pemberton said: “He was one of the ones who went on and made a difference so yes he has given me a good headache.”

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Pemberton revealed that Josef Yarney missed out on a place in the squad against Woking due to a ‘slight swelling’ on his knee but it is not anything long-term and he will be assessed ahead of the clash against the Gulls.

Meanwhile, Nathan Tyson is increasing his work in training and it is hoped he will be back in the fold soon enough.

“We are monitoring him everyday to see how the reaction is,” Pemberton added. “Each day he is stepping it up. Touch wood he will not be a million miles away.”
