'Last 20 minutes against Woking points the way forward for Chesterfield', says our Spireites fan writer

After the fourth goal went in against Woking I thought to myself: ‘Will the real Chesterfield please stand up’, says our Spireites fan writer, Roland Gent.

It looks like Luke Rawson is going to come good for us, as many predicted, he certainly took his goals well in a game dominated by the opposition.

Like most fans I spent the majority of our first two matches watching a live feed with our midfield get pushed further and further back and both Hartlepool and Woking having the lion’s share of the ball.

On come the subs against Woking and Tyler Denton and Luke Rawson make the team look different straight away and going to four at the back seemed to even things up rather than ceding midfield to the opponents.

Against Hartlepool I was alarmed at how few chances the Blues created, we only really had one shot on target which was the penalty and we were limited to a long straight ball to Tom Denton which never came off. I’m sure that the last 20 minutes against Woking points the way forward for what John Pemberton would like to achieve.

We all know that were howls of protest due to teething problems with the live stream for the Hartlepool match, the technical issue was out of the hands of the media team. These sorts of things are also being experienced by other teams and a lot of problems are down to the service that is being provided to the club. I’m sure everyone who complained was happy to take advantage of the free voucher to watch the second game.

We are away at Torquay on Tuesday night, there will be a live feed from Plainmoor which will be provided by the home side, so you’ll have to buy your feed from them. Let’s hope we play like we did in the last 10 minutes of Saturday’s game.
