The time he knocked on Fergie's door, walking up the Wembley steps and being recommended to Bradford are all big landmarks in the career of Tommy Lee.

Each of those anecdotes have made it into a new brochure that celebrates the goalkeeper’s time in football.

And tomorrow, Town fans can be among the first to get their hands on the brochure at a special launch event, the latest in a series of occasions to mark the testimonial of the retired Spireites legend.

The launch will be held at the Hub cafe at the Proact on Friday between 5pm and 8pm.

The 132-page story of the keeper’s life and career is told in his own words, with contributions from others and previously unpublished photos.

Lee himself will be in attendance to sign copies.

The cost of the full-colour brochure is £10 and only cash payment will be accepted.

His testimonial match takes place next Wednesday at the Proact when Chesterfield host ex Town boss Paul Cook and his Wigan Athletic side.

Lee is likely to play some part in the game, which kicks off at 7pm and may feature his former team-mates Sam Morsy and Gary Roberts.
