He has already brought in Burnley defender Jordan Cropper and Notts County goalkeeper Ross Fitzsimons on loan deals until the end of the season.

We understand he is looking at the possibility of signing a striker with Mike Fondop suspended for the next three matches.

But one player he is hoping to sign will only become available when his parent club bring someone else in.

"Ideally I would like one more and I have someone in mind,” Pemberton said.

"I won't go into detail.

"If it does happen then I will be going cap in hand (to the owner) saying can we (sign him)?

"But as we are at the moment financially it is tight and we have got a big squad of players to be fair so it is not as if there has not been any backing because there has been backing.

"When I mentioned about the right-back the response was 'yes, go get him' and when I mentioned about the goalkeeper the response was 'yes, go get him'.

"But what I can't keep doing is piling players on players.

"We had 23 players this morning

"It is different if one or two are going out but at this moment in time they are not so I have to be mindful of that because I have got to put training sessions together for 23 players and it is difficult.”
