The Blues boss was able to add two more players in Alex Kiwomya and Tyler Denton to his squad ahead of Saturday’s match against Woking and the pair’s arrival gave everyone a ‘lift’.

“They (the owners) are supporters and they understand where we are,” Pemberton said. “I have not got millions of pounds but what Mike and John have done is say from the start ‘we will help you and back you as much as we can’ and I have to say they have. It is a great boost for the supporters definitely and it was a great boost for the team because when two new faces work through the door it gives everyone a lift.”

Pemberton also said the decision to allow some fans who experienced streaming problems against Hartlepool United to watch the Woking match for free was a ‘good gesture’ and will hopefully help fans reconnect with the club.

“What we are trying to do is connect as a club back with our supporters,” the Spireites manager added. “We want what is best for everyone. Mike (Goodwin) and John (Croot) have been brilliant with that. I have regular dialogue with them almost everyday about what we can do. They take the problems that we have had really seriously. We just want the connection between the club and the supporters to come together and when it does that we can move forward in a big way.”
