The Spireites suffered their first loss in nine games at Woking on Tuesday night.

Town led at half-time thanks to Saidou Khan’s wonder strike but they conceded three after the break, including two late on, to lose in Surrey.

The defeat leaves the Blues second in the National League table, one point behind leaders Dagenham and Redbridge.

Rowe’s men are not in action this Saturday and next face Wrexham away on Tuesday (October 5).

"We are allowed to lose a game, we have lost one in nine, we get a bit of a mini break now and we set our stall out for Wrexham and make sure we get to those standards because we need those standards if we are to get to where we want to,” the manager said.

When asked if he was confident he would get a reaction at the Racecourse Ground next week, he added: "Why wouldn't I be confident? The form has been good in general since I have been here for 10 months and this season. We have lost one in nine. We have collected 18 points from nine games so that is two points a game.”

Chesterfield will be hoping to have injured midfielder Manny Oyeleke back for the trip to Wales.

“I think it is clear in the last two games that he has been a big loss for us,” Rowe added.

Meanwhile, fellow midfielder Jim Kellermann has been recalled from his loan spell at Tamworth.
