The 19-year-old joined the National League North club on loan for a month and only had one training session with his new teammates before starting Saturday’s 1-1 home draw.

Rawson, who was said to have made a ‘great impression’, tapped in from close-range to give Alfreton the lead and tested Chorley goalkeeper Matthew Urwin on a couple of other occasions.

The visitors equalised with a late penalty.

“I was really pleased for him because he has only had one training session with us, we only got him on Thursday, it is very difficult.

“I thought he had a great game.

“He looked a real target, he looked a handful and he looked a real goal threat.

“He was in the background last year for Chesterfield and he has been brought through this season and they want him to go play 90 minutes.

“He has done well for them already this season, he has got a couple of goals.

“We asked the question and we thank Chesterfield for letting him come to us and the boy has enjoyed it and he has done very well.”

Meanwhile, Milan Butterfield impressed on his debut for Guiseley in their 4-2 home victory against Southport after joining on a month’s loan just before kick-off.

Butterfield was reportedly ‘pulling the strings in midfield’ and Guiseley boss, Russ O’Neill, said he was ‘excellent’.
