Had nothing of note to do in the first-half and was subbed at half-time due to an injury.

His first goal for the club made it 2-0 in the second-half, arriving late at the back post to turn in Nathan Tyson’s cross.

Josef Yarney 7

A much-improved defensive performance after a poor display in midweek against Harrogate. Looked really fired up for this one and was aggressive in the tackle.

Will Evans 7

Put his body on the line in the last 15 minutes with some crucial blocks when Chesterfield were under pressure after Chorley pulled one back. Almost scored from a corner in he first-half.

Haydn Hollis 7

The centre-back dealt with everything in the air and cleared his lines. Flicked Mandeville’s corner on which Denton headed home.

David Buchanan 7

A solid and reliable performance as has been the case for a number of weeks now. Dealt with Kiwomya’s pace well.

Curtis Weston 6

Showed some calmness to put his foot on the ball from time to time but the ball largely bypassed the midfield.

Jonathan Smith 6

Like Weston he struggled to take control of the midfield but covered a lot of ground and played a part in the second goal, sending Tyson through with a delightful pass.

Liam Mandeville 6

Not as good as against Harrogate but worked hard and his corner led to Denton’s goal.

Tom Denton 6

Bagged his seventh goal of the season from close-range five minutes before the break, stooping low to head in Mandeville’s corner.

Nathan Tyson 8

A constant threat with his pace. Will be disappointed he did not score after having a few opportunities. Provided the assist for Cropper’s goal, crossing in from the left.

Ross Fitzsimons 6

Replaced the injured Jalal and made two good saves. Almost got fingertips to Chorley’s goal but could not quite reach it.

Robbie Weir N/A

Did a good job of tightening up the midfield after replacing Mandeville with eight minutes to go.

Scott Boden N/A

Came on for Denton on 82 minutes and chased down everything from the front.
