Hasland WMC bounce back from 9-1 thrashing in fine style in Chesterfield Sunday League

A lot can change in seven days no more so than in football and that certainly proved to be the case regarding the fortunes of HKL ONE side Hasland Working Mens Club.

A 9-1 drubbing at the hands of Newton George and Dragon would have had a demoralising effect on any side but not many would bounce back as effectively as Hasland did, storming to a superb 8-2 win over Renishaw Miners Welfare.

Leading the charge was Matt Bower who bagged himself a hat trick whilst team mates Steve Mansell and Perry Richards both scored twice in their sides second win of the season and Charlie Mitchell scored his first goal on debut.

In HKL THREE Spotted Frog won their first game of the season. Trailing opponents Bridge Inn 4-1 after fifty-five minutes Jamie Culf’s brace and strikes from Jimmy Fitton, Liam Roberts, Dominic Collins and Adam Barrett turned the game on its head as Frog won 6-4.

Britannia Tupton were entertained by Hollingwood Athletic and returned home with the three points after winning the game 4-0.

HKL FOUR table-toppers Mutton FC put Clay Cross Utd to the sword as they romped to a 10(ten)-1 victory. Sammy Baines was in fine form, hitting an excellent hat trick and Tom Suter and Aiden Ordidge both scored twice.

Sam Allcock, Luke Knlghtley and Connor Johnson’s goals completed the scoring. Derby day in Dronfield as Wanderers took on Town and the latter eased to a comfortable 6-0 victory.

Matt Crowe’s hat trick along with Kane Snell’s ninth goal of the season and further goals from Alex Sandererson and Sam Devereux secured the win for Town. Butchers Arms are up to second place following their 5-2 win at Arkwright Town in which Dan Shelbourne and Mitch Collins scored twice, Danny Jagger once.

Espial’s excellent first season in the league in HKL FIVE continued with a 3-1 win over Tiki, Craig Marples scoring twice Justin Circuit once. A tight game between Spartans and Carr Vale Utd ended in a draw as Gino DeFazio and Kane Conroy’s goals for Spartans cancelled out by by goals from Ryan Capuano and Kurt Alsop.

One game in HKL SIX and Palterton Sporting produced a superb display to beat league leaders Apollo 2-1, Blakeley and Walters scoring the winning goals.
