The goalscoring beasts of Bolsover march on

The unstoppable goalscoring machine that is FC Bolsover continues to steamroller the opposition at the top of the Central Midlands League's North Division.

Bolsover took their tally to 43 goals in the first seven games of the season, six of which they have won, when they routed Retford 7-0 on Saturday.

Josh Parfitt and Josh Thomas gave the visitors a 2-0 cushion by half-time before Thomas went on to complete his hat-trick in the second period. Also on the scoresheet were Danny Russell, Josh Scully and Jake Ballinger as Bolsover stayed three points clear at the top of the table.

Fans who want to treat themselves to their next game can pop along this Saturday when they are at home to Brinsworth outfit, Phoenix.

In second place are Appleby Frodingham, who maintained their 100% start to the new campaign by pulling off a fine 2-1 victory at Harworth in a Friday night game that was a credit to the league. The home side took the lead on 36 minutes through Tom Pick, but Dayle Hutson levelled ten minutes later and after several impressive saves by their ‘keeper, Patrick Shaw, Frod snatched a 77th minute wninner through Stephen McCarron.

A further three points behind in third are Clay Cross Town after their 4-1 success at Thorne Colliery, while lower down the table in eighth spot after two wins, one draw and two defeats are Dronfield Town Reserves. In their latest match, they went down 3-2 at Askern, despite goals from Charles Bradwell and Theo Wilson.
