The vastly experienced midfielder Laurie Wilson has moved from Belper Town having formerly played in the Conference for Burton Albion, Kidderminster Harriers, Alfreton Town and Harrogate Town and then serving Ilkeston, Grantham Town and Buxton in the Evo-Stik NPL.

Chesterfield-based Wilson began his career with Sheffield Wednesday, where his father Danny also managed.

Also coming to Matlock is attacking midfielder Jordan Deacey, 21, on a month’s loan from Boston United.

Deacey’s father John manages Bradford Park avenue where Deacey junior began his career making 130 appearances and then a further 40 for AFC Telford before moving to York Street in the summer.

The Gladiators will be hoping to end a winless run of four league and cup matches tomorrow.
