FOOTBALL RUMOURS: Championship sides in a race to sign former Spireite stopper Richard O’Donnell

O’Donnell made 14 appearances for Chesterfield during the 2012/13 season, which included a loan spell at Stockport, before he left for Walsall.

The 26-year-old has gone on to make 90 appearances for the Saddlers over the past two seasons, including 21 clean sheets in the campaign just gone.

That type of form has seen the former Sheffield Wednesday trainee in hot demand with a host of suitors from League One and the Championship.

Walsall boss Dean Smith has admitted it’s a waiting game from their end to see where he will end up after offering the keeper a new deal to stay at the Banks’.

And with the likes of Reading, Derby County and Nottingham Forest all linked with a move for the in demand keeper it looks like he could be on his way.
