The centre-half, on loan from Burnley, had only ever found the net in non-league or in Under 23s games, before his last-gasp equaliser at Gillingham this month.

Closing in on a half tonne of Spireites games, Anderson was keen to end his drought: “It’s my first league goal, but I have scored in non-league.

“It’s a little bit of a weight off because it was in the back of my mind a bit. I think I’m getting close to 50 league games and I obviously hadn’t scored.

“When I was at Burnley in the Under 23s and youth teams I used to score, not a lot but four or five.

“I was waiting for that goal so it has been a bit in the back of my mind so I was just happy to get it.”
