Ex Chesterfield FC star Chris Herd walks away from Perth Glory deal

Former Chesterfield FC midfielder Chris Herd has walked away from a two year deal with hometown club Perth Glory.

Herd will now be looking for a Championship or League One club after revealing that the career of his wife and family life too prority over his football interests.

Herd made 23 appearances for Spireites last season is married to a successful wedding photographer who had long term pre-existing business commitments.

Herd told theworldgame.sbs.com website: “She just couldn’t get off her work and that would have meant the baby (two and a half year old daughter Hollie) staying here and that was going to be too hard for us as a family,” he said.
