Alfreton Town looked set for a point when they found a late equaliser at Hereford this afternoon, but the hosts had other ideas.

The Bulls were a goal up at-half-time, but with three minutes left in the game Craig Hobson made it 1-1.

With the 90 minutes played, the Reds conceded a penalty and James Roberts converted to give Hereford three points for the first time since August.

Billy Heath made five changes, bringing in Adam Curry in for his debut in defence, while Tom Platt, Josh Clackstone, David Lynch and Richard Peniket all started.

Callum Chettle and Reece Styche dropped to the bench.

Hereford were ahead on 18 minutes when Sam Ramsbottom was unable to hold onto the ball and Mike Symons took advantage.

Tom Owen-Evans then hit the bar and George Lloyd struck the post with the rebound as Hereford went hunting a second.

The crowd of 2,082 would have assumed the game was all but done and dusted by the time Reece Styche crossed and fellow substitute Hobson headed home.

Alas, Hereford's last gasp spot-kick settled the game, perhaps deservedly, in their favour.
