Defender Gavin Gunning completes move to Chesterfield after leaving Gloucester City

The 29-year-old, who was a free agent, joins the Spireites on an 18-month deal after leaving Gloucester City earlier in the week.
He links up again with manager James Rowe, who signed him for the Tigers last summer.

Hide AdThe centre-back is Rowe’s 11th signing since being appointed manager at the end of November.
Gunning joins Akwasi Asante, George Carline and Alex Whittle in moving from the National League North club to the Technique Stadium in the last two months.
As well as Gloucester, his former clubs include Dundee United and Forest Green Rovers. He started his career at Blackburn Rovers.
Announcing his departure, Gloucester City said in a statement: “We can confirm that Gavin Gunning has left the club today. Unfortunately injuries led to Gavin missing much of this season to date, we wish him well as he continues his path back to full fitness. Good luck Gav.”
