Spireites director Ashley Carson, who will take the trophy to the match, said: “We thought it would be nice to give fans a chance to be photographed with the trophy while raising some money for Sheffield FC in the process.”

Dronfield-based Sheffield FC’s pre-season preparations are starting to take shape with some interesting opponents in the pipeline and more still to come.

Mick Wadsworth’s new charges will be up against some teams The World’s First have never faced before, along with some old historic rivalries reignited including the World’s Oldest rivalry with Derby.

Along with the familiar local opponents of Chesterfield and Sheffield Wednesday, the club will also be playing host to Austrian side ASK-PSV Salzburg and 1875 FA Cup Winners Royal Engineers – a team Sheffield last played in the FA Cup Third Round way back in 1877 with The Sappers running out 1-0 winners.
