Council continue to back the Reds

Alfreton Town Council are continuing their long support of Alfreton Town Football Club with further 12-month extension of their sponsorship with a grant of £3,000.

The sponsorship, amongst other benefits, provides free of charge admission for each home League game for 10 members of local groups, clubs, schools and community organisations in the town.

Any group interested in attending a future fixture should contact Alfreton Town Council on 01773 520032 for further information.

The council will also be the main matchday sponsor for a fixture later in the season and will be working with local groups and the club to make this a community event.

Town council leader Coun Scott Walker, pictured right with town Mayor Coun John Walker and club director David Gregory (left), said: “The Town Council very much values the sponsorship of the club.

“Along with the national publicity for the town with the town council’s name on the team’s shorts, and recognition in the match day programme and around the ground, 10 individuals each week get chance to watch the highest level of non-League football, which they may otherwise not have the chance to do.”

Coun Walker said: “I have been a member of the town council since 1991 and have been delighted to have seen the council support the football club over this time.

“I hope those who benefit from the free tickets will enjoy their visit and return again to watch other matches, and that the council’s sponsorship will aid the continued progression of the club.”
