It means this Saturday’s match at Bromley (January 9) is off.

Next weekend’s FA Trophy tie (January 16) will also have to be postponed, although that is yet to be confirmed.

It is unclear whether this means Chesterfield will have to bow out of the FA Trophy and let the Pilgrims progress.

A new date for the Bromley fixture will be announced in due course.

Calls have been made from some quarters to halt the football season with many fixtures being called off each week in all divisions.

The squad has only just returned from a 10-day break over the festive period in which three games had to be rearranged.
