Ilkeston began strongly, with Spireites keeper Abbie Kent kept busy, but Chesterfield newarly went in front when Grace Newbold was put through on goal by Gina Camfield only for her effort to hit the side netting.

Camfield then forced the Ilkeston keeper into a save before Georgina Williams put the hosts in front after being put through and rounding Kent.

Michael Noon’s Ladies didn’t take long to respond as Abbie Creed hammered a free-kick into the bottom corner of the net on 33 minutes.

Ilkeston went in front early in the second-half through Charlotte McLaren despite Chesterfield feeling Steph Warren had been fouled in the build-up, then Jade Eaglefield scored twice to extend the lead further..

Camfield hit the crossbar for Spireites before netting a penalty to reduce the arrears, but that would be only a consolation as Ilkeston held on to secure a 4-2 win.
