Chesterfield have confirmed they will take on Matlock Town as part of their preparations for the 2014/15 season.
The Spireites will travel to the Autoworld Arena on Causeway Lane on Wednesday, July 9 (kick-off 7.45pm).
Matlock chairman Tom Wright is delighted to see the fixture return to the schedule after Chesterfield’s pre-season commitments last season prevented them from facing the Gladiators.
“A pre-season game against Chesterfield has become something of a tradition for us and I know that many Spireites fans look forward to making the short trip to Matlock,” said Wright.
“Autoworld managing director Tony Cordin has kindly agreed to provide Autoworld Trophy, which the two teams will compete for on the night.
“We would like to thank Chesterfield manager Paul Cook and chief executive Chris Turner for agreeing to the game.”
Chesterfield will also face Aston Villa on Wednesday, July 30 at the Proact Stadium in their build-up to the new campaign.
